If you love whipped cream, but not so much the calories that come with it, a brilliant and much healthier alternative is yoghurt whipped cream. While it may not get as fluffy as normal whipped cream does, it’s a perfect combination of its light, airy texture with the creaminess and delicious flavour of Greek yoghurt!
So there you have it, a perfect excuse to enjoy this yummy topping or dip much more often and turn healthy breakfasts or snacks into something that feels a lot more indulgent. 🙂
Preparation time: 5 minutes
- 1 cup plain Greek-style yoghurt
- 3 to 5 Tbsp double cream
- 3 to 4 Tbsp Icing sugar
Yields two portions.
- Pour all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Mix with an electric hand mixer on medium speed for a few minutes. Whipped yoghurt doesn’t get as fluffy as normal whipped cream so you won’t be able to turn the bowl upside down without the content dripping (as you’d normally do with whipped cream), but it should become light and airy.
